6061 aluminum plate specific features

Strength: A moderately high strength grade of T651 is obtained by heat treatment, providing a higher strength than the 5XXX series alloy.
Processability: The 6XXX alloy plate is easier to process in T651 than the 5XXX alloy.
Formability: The 6XXX plate alloy can form a state of T651 in cold treatment or a T451 state after tempering. T451 has higher formability than the T651 state.
Corrosion resistance: 6XXX series alloy, T651/T652/T6 state, good corrosion resistance. Compared to the 5XXX alloy, 6XXX still exhibits excellent corrosion resistance when exposed to high temperatures.
Weldability: 6XXX is easy to weld, and it can be used as a suitable filler in the case of GTA-W or GMA-W. In the heat affected zone, the tensile strength of the weld can be reduced to 165-200 MPa. In special cases, post-weld heat treatment can restore some of the lost strength.
